When is my book coming out? Well, the book-part of Chordal Drumming is done. It's the DVD-part that will still take a little longer.

The method had grown out of something that I had been trying to learn how to do for some time: generally, the ability to play phrases with hands and feet simultaneously.

One obersvation I've made over the years, is that it's impossible to predict the moment when something that you have learned how to do, will start to flow out naturally. It certainly always happens later than I like :)

It's that Charlie-Parker moment when your mind can forget it all and be completely unincumbered by the physical act of playing.

So it doesn't help that this playing style is pretty much the hardest thing I've tried to learn. But it's starting to feel "right". And before it does that I don't want to commit anything to tape, or DVD for that matter.

I'm shooting for the end of the summer, but I can't promise. The only thing I promise is that I'm working hard on it until it's done, and loving it.
